Fundamentals of Pilates

Fundamentals is all about stripping the exercises back to its basic parts - ribcage arms, knee folds etc . It's just like making a cake. First you weigh the ingredients, then you mix two together - butter and sugar and cream them. Then you add the rest bit by bit. When we do this we call it building blocks. It is our easiest mat class. It follows the classical mat order at a slower pace allowing for plenty of options to modify the techniques to suit the individual. Props to support and building blocks makes the exercises accessible for all. This can be a good starting point for first time exercisers, those who suffer mild back or neck issues and those who just want to take it slower. As you strengthen and grow you may feel ready to move to a basic mat class. The video clips show the same two exercises so that you can see the difference between the fundamental and basic mat classes - hundred and roll up.
